This wild paint scheme was the creation of famed pop artist Peter Max for The Winston in 2000. Earnhardt started 12th, was only 13th after the first segment and 10th after the second segment, but battled back strong for a third-place finish in the final segment. In the five other races he competed in this car, from April to October 2000, Earnhardt had two top-3 and four top-10 finishes. This was also the car that Kevin Harvick used to qualify for The Winston in 2001. He crashed in Turn 1 on the first lap when it started to rain and the backup car had to be raced instead.
